Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced the Livestock Card initiative to provide essential support to livestock farmers in Punjab. With an allocated budget of 11 billion rupees, the Punjab government decided to give zero-interest loans of up to Rs 270,000, facilitating around 80,000 livestock farmers.
Release Date of Livestock Card and Important Details
Operational by December 15, 2024, the Punjab Livestock Card will provide farmers with access to discounted feed options such as wanda, mineral mixtures, and silage through government-selected dealers. Provincial Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani mentioned that this initiative will distribute essential commodities for dairy farmers in Punjab.
Punjab Livestock Card Registration Process Through PLC 8070
In order to register, farmers can follow a quick SMS method:
- First, open your messaging app on your Android or iPhone.
- In the text line, just type PCL <space> your 13-digit CNIC number.
- Finally, send it to 8070.
After registration, farmers can collect their cards from the nearest BOP branch to get loan funds from December 15.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to qualify for this government scheme, cultivators must fit the mentioned below requirements:
- Be a domesticated cattle farmer, whether male or female.
- Have an ID card and mobile SIM card registered in your name.
- Have at least five heifers and be below 60 years of age.
- Have a clean record in the livestock data set Division (9211).
- The loan terms include a five-month repayment period, of which four months are for availing the loan and a final month for repayment.
11 Billion Rupees Allocated Budget
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated the budget of 11 billion rupees for the CM Livestock Card Program to help 80,000 farmers manage around 400,000 animals with an objective to increase meat and milk production. The meat produced will also create export opportunities.
CM Dairy Stock Card Loan and Payment Details
The initiative will give interest-free loans for four months with a repayment period of five months. Farmers with five to 10 heifers of livestock can apply. The loan ranges from Rs 135,000 to Rs 270,000 depending on the number of animals.
Free Services Included
The Livestock Department provides more free services like animal tagging, insemination, and vaccination, thereby enhancing the health and monitoring of livestock.
