In a significant move to aid farmers, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given the green light for the CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme, which is set to offer substantial assistance to agricultural workers throughout the region.
The decision was made during a meeting led by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif also in attendance. The leaders were thoroughly briefed on the Kissan Package, encompassing various projects advantageous to farmers.
Kissan Package Announced For Farmers
During the meeting, a comprehensive support Kissan Package was announced, which includes:
- Establishment of Punjab Kissan Bank
- Launch of Green Tractor Scheme
- Promotion of local manufacturing of combine harvesters and farm equipment.
- Implementation of Oilseeds Promotion Scheme
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also unveiled the Kisan Bank and the Kissan Package, which are aimed at facilitating access to credit for farmers. The discussions also included the introduction of solar-powered tube wells and a drip irrigation system, both of which are crucial for modernizing Punjab’s agricultural infrastructure.

Subsidies for Tractors Under Punjab Green Tractor Scheme
The Punjab Green Tractor Scheme offers farmers significant subsidies:
- 70% subsidy for small tractors
- A 50% subsidy for large tractors
Following Nawaz Sharif’s suggestion, the government decided to distribute 10,000 tractors under this scheme. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered that the first phase of the project be completed within a year and plans to increase the number of tractors available every year.
Eligibility Criteria for Punjab Green Tractor Scheme
Farmers with 6 to 50 hectares of land can apply for the Punjab Green Tractor Program, ensuring that the benefits reach those who need them most.

Application Process for Green Tractor Scheme in Punjab
