Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, recently approved the Kisan Card project, which will uplift farmers’ socio-economic status across the province. This initiative opens up concessional loans to both large and small farmers—benefiting around 500,000 in total.
The Kisan Card provides farmers with various subsidies to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other essentials, aiming to promote agricultural production. As a result, we contribute significantly to the growth of Punjab’s agricultural sector.
How to Get Your Punjab Kisan Card
Maryam Nawaz mentioned that farmers using the Kisan Card can apply for loans of up to Rs 1.5 lakh each season. The loans are interest-free, and they are easily available. Farmers are simply required to repay the loans in a single installment within six months, after which they can apply for another phase of monetary assistance. To verify applicants, NADRA will check that each farmer is debt-free with other institutions.
Application Process for the Kisan Card
The Kisan Card initiative will provide Rs 300 crore in agricultural loans each year, specifically for Punjab farmers with land up to 12.5 hectares. The Land Registry must register the land and link the applicant’s SIM card to their CNIC for eligibility.
