Gujranwala Police has launched a new initiative called ‘Pink Wheels’ to improve women’s safety and protect them from abuse. The objective of this pilot project is to provide rapid assistance to women in distress with the support of the local Chamber of Commerce. These are special teams of women police officers who will respond to distress calls related to domestic violence, acid attacks, and rape cases. These police officers will use specially designed Pink Wheel scooters to reach the victims quickly, initially in four areas of Gujranwala.
