She confirmed an increase in the Benazir Kafaalat quarterly stipend amount for 9.3 million beneficiaries, who will now receive Rs 13,500 from the current Rs 10,500. The increment will provide more support to those receiving assistance through BISP camps.

BISP To Increase The Quarterly Stipend Amount For Benazir Kafaalat

The BISP Kafaalat Program started in 2008 and is one of the largest cash transfer initiatives in Pakistan. The objective of this quarterly stipend is to assist poor women with both immediate relief and long-term benefits.

In the short term, the initiative aims to save marginalized groups from the negative effects of inflation, increasing food prices, and slow economic growth. Over the long run, it will remove extreme poverty and promote women’s empowerment, matching Pakistan’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
