The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is one of Pakistan’s most popular initiatives, especially for its role in empowering women. This program currently supports more than 9.6 million families across the country and plans to expand its scope even further. The main objective of the Benazir Kafaalat Programme is to assist women living in poverty and provide them and their children with better educational opportunities. The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Scholarship provides financial assistance to women and their families.
Only women with valid CNIC ID cards are eligible for the BISP Dynamic Survey
Benazir Bhutto launched the Benazir Income Support Programme to specifically assist needy women. To be a part of this program, the woman must have a valid CNIC ID card, which is essential for verifying her identity. Unfortunately, many women in remote and rural areas do not have a CNIC, often due to neglect. To address this issue, BISP not only registers eligible families but also helps women obtain an ID card, making it easier for women to obtain this important document who would otherwise find it difficult to travel long distances.
What happens if a woman does not have an ID card?
Having an ID card is an essential requirement for registration with BISP. It serves as proof of eligibility, and without it, registration is not possible. Therefore, the first step for anyone who wants to take advantage of the program is to make sure that they have a valid ID card, which is required for the NSER Survey at the regional district office.
Men can’t use their CNIC card for Benazir Kafalat payments
There is a misconception that men can register and receive payments through BISP. This thought is wrong because the program is only for poor women and their children, not men. The program’s goal is to improve the lives of women who are struggling to make ends meet.
