The Punjab government has launched a helpful initiative for the disabled and unemployed to enable them to live an independent and dignified life. Maryam Nawaz is in charge of the Himmat Card Scheme. Under this scheme, the Bank of Punjab (BOP) will distribute 65,000 ATM cards to registered people so that they can receive quarterly payments of Rs 10500.

Maryam Nawaz has launched this important scheme to provide social assistance to people who are unable to work due to disability. Under the leadership of Provincial Minister Sohail Shokat Butt, the Social Welfare Department and BOP will launch these cards, which will provide much-needed financial assistance.

We will distribute 65,000 ATM cards to eligible people in the first phase. These cards’ objective is to provide quarterly payments for helping people with disabilities out of dependency.

This initiative is one of the first of its kind in Punjab. By providing financial assistance, the program enables people with disabilities to meet their basic needs and live more independently. It also boosts their self-esteem as they can now meet their daily needs without having to depend on others.

Online Registration Process for Himmat Card

Applying for a Himmat card is quick and easy. You can register online through the government portal, https://dpmis.punjab.gov.pk/. If online registration is not possible, you can apply through the Help Desk services established in the respective district.

6 Important Eligibility Requirements for BOP’s ATM Card

The Government of Punjab has set six important eligibility requirements for BOP’s ATM Card:

  • Residency in Punjab
  • Valid disability certificate
  • Inability to work due to disability.
  • PMT score below 45
  • Not being a government employee.
  • Not receiving any assistance from Zakat, PSPA or BISP schemes

Two Phases of the Himmat Card Program

We will distribute Himmat cards in two phases. The first phase will distribute 40,000 cards, while the second phase will distribute another 25,000 cards. A 30 percent quota has also been reserved for women to make sure that no section of society is left out.

187 officials carried out a door-to-door survey to verify the people’s eligibility.

How can we verify the applicant for the Himmat Card Scheme?

The following 6 important documents and proofs are required for the application:

  • Proof of Disability Certificate
  • Proof of Life or Death
  • Original ID Card
  • Biometric Thumbprint
  • Proof of Current Address
  • Accurate Personal Records
