Good news for the people of Punjab, especially the youth! Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has initiated a new project that will create job opportunities for graduates and promote environmental sustainability.

Two objectives of the CM Internship Climate Resilient Leadership program are to empower youth to take environmental responsibility and revitalize Punjab’s ecological health with a new skilled workforce.

The Chief Minister announced the country’s first smog helpline, 1373, during the launch event and asked for 1% of the project budget to go toward tree plantation campaigns.

Raise The Stipend from Rs 25,000 to Rs 60,000

In her speech to the youth, Maryam Nawaz announced another positive development for the students: an increase in the monthly stipend for the internship program from Rs 25,000 to Rs 60,000. The objective of this increase is to reduce financial pressure and provide a sense of job security to the graduates after completing their internship.

The chief minister stated that these internships are not just opportunities but are part of a larger mission to develop a greener future for Punjab.

Collaboration With Indian Punjab in The Fight Against Smog

Maryam Nawaz called for collaboration between Pakistani and Indian Punjab in the fight against smog and stated that it is a problem that requires joint efforts. We have asked educational institutions to focus pollution awareness in their curricula from October 15 to November 15.

She criticized the lack of attention to environmental management in the past and made it clear that improving the environment is a shared responsibility. Moreover, she emphasized the need to combat animal abuse and mentioned the government’s commitment to humane practices.

Efforts To Combat Smog

The Chief Minister addressed concerns about air quality and spoke about continuous measures to reduce smog.
