In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the ‘CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme‘ to help farmers across the province. This program is part of the government’s broader efforts to support farmers.
Punjab Green Tractor Scheme 2024
Approval for the project was given in a meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz, also in the presence of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif. During this meeting, detailed information on the Kissan package was provided.
The meeting also gave the green light to several other farmer-friendly initiatives in Punjab, including the establishment of a Kisan Bank that will offer loans to farmers on concessional terms.

Subsidy in Tractor Price
During the discussion, the chief minister rejected a proposal to offer a subsidy of Rs 600,000 for each tractor. Instead, the authorities were directed to provide a 70% subsidy for small tractors and a 50% subsidy for larger tractors.
Increase in Number of Tractors under New Scheme
The government has decided to increase the number of tractors available under the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme 2024 to 10,000 units. The Prime Minister has set a target to complete the first phase of the tractor project within a year.

Farmers owning between six and 50 hectares of land can apply for the Green Tractor Scheme.
