Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme 2024 to provide significant support to farmers. This scheme is expected to provide many benefits and facilitations to farmers across Punjab. Through this scheme, farmers across the province can now buy tractors on easy, interest-free installments.
The approval was given at a recent meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. In this meeting, they were briefed about the Kisan package. Several other projects to strengthen support to farmers in Punjab were also approved, including the setting up of a special Kisan Bank to provide easy loans to farmers.
Tractor Subsidies to Support Farmers in Punjab
Punjab government aims to distribute 10,000 tractors in the initial phase of the tractor project. During the meeting, it was decided that the government would provide 70% of subsidy for small tractors and 50% for large tractors. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed that this first phase should be completed within a year. He stressed that the number of tractors distributed will increase every year.
Distribution of 10000 tractors in the First Phase

- Be a resident of Punjab.
- Have a Pakistani National Identity Card.
- Own land between 6 and 50 hectares.
- No current bank loan available.
