For many years, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has been providing essential support to millions of women, and it continues to raise awareness in rural areas, ensuring that women in these regions receive continuous assistance through the Benazir Kafaalat initiative. In Sindh, the program has reached over 700,000 beneficiaries, and registrations are still in process through BISP Tehsil offices and NADRA mobile registration vans.
What’s the impact of BISP for rural women?
In collaboration with the Federal Government, the Benazir Income Support Programme, the Govt of Sindh has assisted over 7 million people in 2024. Eligible women will receive Rs 10,500 per quarter under the Benazir Kafalat program, providing essential assistance to households facing financial difficulties.
The demand for long-term economic empowerment of women is increasing in Sindh, especially in rural areas. Many are looking not just for temporary assistance but also for a comprehensive plan to help them become self-sufficient. Many examples from Sindh show how women have invested in small businesses and thus gained financial stability and independence.
