Pakistani households who have not yet registered for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) can now apply by checking if they meet the eligibility criteria. A monthly income of less than Rs 29,000 is an important registration requirement, as the program caters to families living below the poverty line. By reviewing this income, the program identifies individuals who are eligible for registration.
Income level is not the only factor that determines women’s eligibility. There are other criteria to consider while applying for the Benazir Kafaalat Programme.
10500 October Payment Update for Benazir Kafalat Program
Several districts, including Lodhran and Sargodha, have received the new tranche of Rs 10,500 under the Benazir Income Support Scheme. We will soon distribute the new monthly payment to other regions, too. The next tranche, following the expansion of the BISP scheme budget, will increase the monthly Kafalat installment from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500.
Eligible women can visit the nearest BISP Tehsil office for payment updates, or check online using their CNIC through web portal 8171.
How Families Earning Less Than Rs 29,000 Can Register For BISP Support
Many families are still unaware of one essential eligibility criteria for BISP, which means that some families miss out on participation. If your family’s monthly income is less than Rs 29,000, you are eligible to be part of the scheme. Unless you meet this condition, you will not receive the Rs 13,500 quarterly payment.
Eligibility Requirements For The Benazir Income Support Scheme
To apply for the Benazir Kafalat Scheme, households must meet the following 6 requirements:
- CNIC Registration: Every adult in the household must have a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) issued by NADRA.
- Socioeconomic factors: Factors such as disability, unemployment or the fact that the household is headed by a woman will be considered.
- Dynamic Survey: BISP staff will conduct a survey to determine socioeconomic status.
- No other assistance: Households receiving similar welfare benefits may not be eligible.
- Residence: Applicants must be Pakistani citizens with a valid passport.
- Documents: Required documents include income tax returns, copies of CNIC and address proof.

Why are eligible households not yet enrolled in BISP?
Due to the limited number of beneficiaries, some families may have to wait up to two years to enroll in BISP. However, the government announced that the Benazir Kafalat scheme will enroll 700,000 more families from January 2025, bringing the total number of one crore beneficiaries.
