The Benazir Income Support Program is one of Pakistan’s most prominent initiatives and has been in existence since 2008. Beneficiaries across the country have received distributions totaling Rs 117 billion so far. Under the Benazir Kafaalat initiative, women currently receive payments of Rs 10500, which will increase to Rs 12500 next year thanks to the recently approved BISP budget.

The program has introduced a new banking system that allows Kafalat beneficiaries to receive payments directly into their bank accounts without any deductions, according to BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid. Beneficiaries can withdraw Rs 13500 from ATMs after completing biometric fingerprint verification, ensuring a safe and hassle-free process.

Eligible families registered with BISP will receive increased payments directly into their accounts starting January 2025, eliminating the need to go through third parties or pay fees to the POS agents.
