Challenges of Internet Availability in Tribal Areas

One of the major challenges stated during the meeting was the lack of internet access in the tribal areas where many beneficiaries live. The lack of reliable internet services makes it difficult for women beneficiaries to receive their payments without having to travel long distances. Rubina Khalid suggested that the Chief Minister should work on improving internet services in these areas to facilitate payments.

She also said that the introduction of a new banking system aims to make the payment process faster and more transparent.

CM Suggested BISP to Increase PMT Score for Baltistan People

During her discussion, Chief Minister Gulbar Khan called for increasing the Poverty Measurement Test (PMT) score for Baltistan residents. The region faces high unemployment rates, and many families struggle to meet their daily needs. By increasing the PMT score, more women could take advantage of the monthly assistance of the BISP program.

Staff Shortages in BISP Regional Offices

Another important issue in the region is the lack of BISP staff. This has resulted in delays in new registrations and difficulties for women in communicating with the BISP staff. The Chief Minister suggested the BISP administration address this shortage to improve the program’s scope and effectiveness.
