The Punjab government has set September 1 as the date for distribution of 8070 Kissan cards to registered farmers. From next month, those who have registered will start receiving their cards, which offer subsidized agricultural inputs and interest-free loans to help increase crop yields and support the country’s economic development.
1st Sept 2024: Punjab govt will distribute kissan cards to registered people
According to recent updates from the Punjab government, the distribution of ‘Kissan Cards’ will begin on September 1, 2024. This initiative, which is part of the ‘CM Maryam Nawaz‘s Kissan Card’ scheme, is effective from June 1, 2024. It intends to provide interest-free agricultural loans.

The Maryam Nawaz Kissan Card scheme benefited almost 600,000 farmers
Currently, more than 600,000 farmers have registered for the scheme. Sahoo also mentioned that information desks will be set up at Bank of Punjab branches to help farmers use their Kissan cards.
In addition, the Agriculture Minister asked the relevant authorities to expedite the registration of vendors who will accept these cards for purchasing agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.

The objective of the Kissan Card is to strengthen the economy by providing financial support to farmers. The new card will enable nearly half a million poor farmers to buy essential agricultural products at reduced prices.

Signing up for a Kissan card is a simple process:
- Open your message inbox.
- Type: pkc [space] CNIC number.
- Send it to 8070.
- Make sure your phone has enough credit to send the SMS.

Eligible people for the Kissan card
To be eligible for a Kissan card:
- The farmer must own up to 12.5 hectares of land.
- The land must be registered with the land registry and the farmer’s mobile SIM card must be linked to his identity document.
- The farmer ID is verified using NADRA data.
- Farmers who have no outstanding financial obligations can qualify for another loan for the next crop after six months of regular payment.

- Write your 13-digit CNIC number with “PKC [space]” and send it to 8070.
