BISP Chairperson Addresses Beneficiary Complaints

At the registration center, Rubina Khalid listened to the complaints of the women present and asked the staff to improve services for visitors. Later, she visited the BISP Center in Dhuddiwala to observe the payment process firsthand. Some women reported that they had to pay Rs 500 as a bribe to receive their BISP payments. After learning this, the chairperson took quick action and referred a suspected person to the police for further investigation.

Payments Disbursement Via New Payment System

Rubina Khalid thanked President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for their leadership in launching the BISP initiative to help the poor through financial assistance. She said that a redesign of the payment system would guarantee a more transparent process.

BISP has now partnered with six other banks and asked them to set up at least two touchpoints in each union council. The objective of this step is to facilitate the collection of payments near the homes of rural beneficiaries.

BISP To Increase the Number of Beneficiaries To 10 Million By December

BISP currently contains 9.3 million registered beneficiaries, with plans to expand its reach to 10 million more women. The expansion is a component of a wider initiative to assist individuals who are facing financial difficulties.

Through ongoing dynamic surveys and increased government funding, BISP will register one crore families by the end of this year, ensuring that even more deserving households receive the necessary assistance.
