The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a new survey to increase enrolment, with payments to begin in January 2024. Individuals who have already completed their survey under the Benazir Kafaalat programme but received an ineligible result in the online CNIC verification under 8171 will need to update their details.

In a recent online session, BISP Director General Naveed Akbar counselled an individual whose wife had been receiving payments through the Benazir Kafalat program but was recently found to be ineligible for 8171 status. The Director General recommended a visit to the BISP Tehsil center to recheck your information, correct any errors, and resume payments.

What should I do if payments are still not received after the resurvey
If the state still does not indicate eligibility after rechecking and updating the information, individuals should wait until June 2026 to retake the survey and enroll their families for 10,500 Kafalat payments.
Reasons why former beneficiaries do not receive payments
There are several reasons why women may not receive payments:
- An increase in poverty score or PMT.
- Fraud or providing incorrect information.
- Filing tax return on CNIC card.
- Involvement in withholdings.

Updating details at the BISP Tehsil office
To update contact details, visit the Tehsil office and follow this procedure:
- Go to the Tehsil BISP office where you were previously registered.
- Discuss your issue with the counter staff.
- A representative will interview you about your issue and confirm your ID number.
- Inform them of the changed details and request for phone number adjustment.
- After verification, your new phone number will be updated in their system.
- Get a receipt from them.
Why beneficiaries are not receiving messages from 8171
Despite completing the survey and being eligible for the monthly payment of 10,500, some beneficiaries are not receiving messages from “8171” to receive their payments. This may be due to a change in status or update in contact details. Check your status with 8171 to make sure this is not the issue.
