CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently launched the Punjab Dhee Rani Program, a large-scale initiative to help poor couples pay for their wedding expenses. The scheme distributes financial assistance worth Rs 100,000 to each newlywed couple through government-issued ATM cards. The objective of the scheme is to help deserving brides across Punjab by providing them with monetary assistance and essential home items.
Important Aspects of the Dhee Rani Program
The initiative includes a variety of features to ensure that every bride receives assistance properly:
- Monetary Assistance: Each bride will receive Rs 100,000 in cash, which she can get through a government-issued ATM card.
- CM Wedding Gifts: Brides will also receive a dowry worth Rs 206,000. This includes essential items like Holy Quran, prayer mat, bed, mattress, mirror, crockery, etc.
- Collective Wedding Events: The program aims to arrange collective marriage ceremonies for approximately 3,000 impoverished girls in Punjab, where each couple will host 20 guests and receive additional gifts such as furniture, utensils, and clothes.
Eligibility Requirements for the CM Maryam Nawaz Dhee Rani Scheme
In order to be eligible for this program, the bride must meet the mentioned-below criteria:
- Age: Between 18 and 40 years.
- Status: The candidate must come from a low-income background, be an orphan, be a Person with Disability (PWD), or be the daughter of a PWD.
- You must be a resident of Punjab.
- The bride, her parents, or guardians can submit the application.
- An affidavit is required to confirm that the bride is single and wants to join the collective ceremony.

If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available, the selection will be done through an electronic balloting system. Special teams will visit your home to verify each application to make this process more transparent.

Maryam Nawaz’s New Update on the Punjab Housing Scheme
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also talked about the Apna Ghar Apni Chhat housing initiative. She announced the commencement of construction work in several districts and the distribution of the first loan installments, allowing individuals to begin constructing their homes.
