The long wait is over! Maryam Nawaz keeps another promise to help families in Punjab. The government has launched a new project by opening the country’s first modern fruit and vegetable market in Lahore. This new initiative began with the announcement on September 15.
With these markets, people will be able to buy essential food items at much cheaper prices, providing relief to those who are struggling to meet the basic needs of their families.
The Innovative Market Initiative Will Be Completed in 18 Months
Work on the initiative is already in process and the Chief Minister has set a completion deadline of 18 months. The motive is to create a market that will be one of the best in Asia, spread over 300 hectares and built to international standards.
Market to Work As Local Distribution And Export Hub
This market will not only benefit the local communities, but it will also serve as a major export hub. We have carefully chosen the location, ensuring easy access to major roads like the Lahore-Sialkot Expressway and GT Road Gujranwala. There will also be metro lines and speedo buses to facilitate the mobility of workers and traders.

To Provide Storage of Newly Fresh Items
