The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced the deadline for beneficiaries to receive payments from April to June. According to Naveed Akbar, Director General of BISP, August 9 is the deadline for receiving 8171 payments. After this date, Kafalat payments of Rs 10,500 will be held by the banks and all outstanding payments from April to June will not be disbursed thereafter.

Naveed Akbar stressed to BISP beneficiaries that August 9 is the deadline for collecting payments for the April to June period. The announcement comes at a time when BISP plans to end its current contract with banks and enter into new partnerships. BenazirKafaalat.pk

New bank partnerships in the 8171 Kafalat Payments

From September, beneficiaries will receive their next disbursement through new banks. The programme will partner with six banks to ensure that no deductions are made during payments.

To maintain transparency

Rubina Khalid stressed that payment sites have been created with efficient staff to ensure transparency in the distribution of Kafaalat payments. He stressed that no mistreatment of beneficiaries or corruption will be tolerated.

In addition, a digital payment solution is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology (MOIT) to prevent fraudulent activities.

New partner banks

The banks tasked with payment distribution include:

  • Al Falah Bank
  • Bank of Punjab
  • Mobilink Microfinance
  • Telenor Microfinance Bank
  • Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
  • HBL Microfinance

Beneficiaries can transfer funds between their EasyPaisa/JazzCash mobile wallets and their bank accounts.

Agreements signed

Naveed Akbar and the heads of the partner banks signed agreements at a ceremony held at the BISP offices, marking the beginning of these new partnerships.

Important Announcement

Beneficiaries in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan were scheduled to receive their April-June payments by August 9. Payments will be suspended after this date while BISP transitions to new banking partners and future payments will resume in September.
