Here are the Route Details

The Lahore Tram Service will cover key areas, connecting important commercial, residential, and historical locations. The first phase will include several major routes designed for maximum accessibility and convenience for passengers. These are the key routes planned for the first phase:

Route 1: Shahdara to Thokar Niaz Baig

This route passes through some of the busiest areas including Ravi Road, Bhati Gate, Data Darbar, Mall Road, and Canal Road, and serves commuters travelling from the northern to the southern outskirts of the city.

Route 2: DHA to Walled City

Connecting the modern DHA district to the historic walled city, this route passes through Ferozepur Road, Mozang Chungi, and Anarkali, making it easier for tourists and residents to move between these contrasting parts of Lahore.

Itinerary 3: Johar Town to Model Town

This route serves the densely populated residential areas of Johar Town and Model Town and passes through major shopping malls and educational institutions.

Route 4: Gulberg to Shalimar Gardens

Covering Gulberg, one of the major commercial districts of Lahore, this route will extend to the historic Shalimar Gardens and offer a mix of daily services and tourist attractions.

Route 5: Railway Station to Liberty Market

Connecting Lahore Railway Station to Liberty Market, this route passes through major stops such as Garhi Shahu and Jail Road, making it convenient for travellers arriving by train.

Price Structure

The fare structure of the tram service in Lahore is affordable and competitive, ensuring accessibility for all sections of the population. Fares are based on distance, with a minimum fare for short distances and incremental increases for longer journeys. The tentative fare structure is as follows:

  • Short distance (up to 5 km): PKR 20
  • Medium distance (5–10 km): PKR 40
  • Long distance (10–20 km): PKR 60
  • Extended distance (20 km and above): PKR 80

Monthly and weekly passes will also be available, providing cost-effective options to commuters. Special discounts will be available for students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
