The Punjab government has launched the AGAC scheme, which provides residents the opportunity to apply for their own housing or get interest-free loans to help them build their homes. Since its inception, the scheme has attracted thousands of applications, demonstrating its popularity as many people are waiting for help finding housing.
Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme collected over 15,000 applications all across Punjab
Latest updates from the Punjab government confirm that more than 15,000 residents have applied for interest-free loans under the scheme. The application process is ongoing across the province. The online portal makes applying easy for non-registered users. There is also an option to apply through the registrar.
What are the details of the 15000 loan applications?
In its first phase, the initiative selected 657 candidates from Gujranwala for loans. Across the four phases, the initiative will benefit 2,628 people in the city. The objective of this scheme is to expand its scope, especially in major urban areas, and make it accessible to a wide range of communities.

At the launch event in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated the benefits of the scheme. Here are some important details:

- Interest Rate: Zero

Important Features of the Punjab Interest-Free Loan Scheme
Low-income people can own their own houses through the installment payment plan. The Punjab government provides a 60% subsidy, setting the total cost per unit at Rs 1.5 million. Families are responsible for covering the remaining 40% through payments over a period of five years.
We will establish quality standards in construction to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly homes. We will build model homes in six weeks to showcase the designs.
Target Areas of the Housing Scheme
Both urban and rural residents are the target audience for the scheme. The Apni Chat Apna Ghar scheme will provide interest-free loans for plots up to 10 marla in rural areas, while urban residents can build 4-story apartment buildings or 3- to 5-marla houses on their own initiative. The government will provide up to Rs 10 lakh in housing subsidies for private settlements.

- Click on the ‘Register’ button.
- Fill up the online form with your contact details.
- Submit the form to complete your registration.
You can also apply by calling the toll-free number 080009100 or through the PITB portal. Special offices in approved housing colonies process these requests.
Eligible Punjab Residents for the AGAC Housing Program
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet eligibility criteria, including being the head of a household, having a permanent residence in Punjab, and owning a small plot of land. Additionally, they need to have a PMT score of 60 or less and register in the National Socioeconomic Register (NSER).
