The Punjab government has allocated a budget for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Program, which provides interest-free housing to needy people and the homeless. Under this scheme, low-cost housing will be built near urban areas to make sure that the beneficiaries can get all the facilities available in the cities. Maryam Nawaz stated the importance of building these houses near the urban population and demanded that they be given to the homeless through easy payment plans.
The housing project will use high-quality materials and a budget of five billion rupees has been planned, with the possibility of increasing the budget if required.
How to do registration for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Program
Maryam Nawaz said that the main objective of this program is to provide shelter to the homeless across Punjab. About 1000,000 houses are expected to be built under the scheme and eligibility will be checked through a registration process. More than 30,000 homes will be built in the first phase.
The Punjab Chief Minister described that model homes will be built across Punjab, and registration is essential for those who are eligible. If you have lost your home or meet the criteria, you can register to be part of this scheme.
Who is eligible for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme
To be eligible for the Apna Ghar Apni Chhat scheme, applicants must meet certain criteria:
- Applicants must have a valid national identity card. Expired cards will result in disqualification from the scheme.
- Applicants must be residents of Punjab as people from other regions are not eligible.
- The monthly income of the candidate must be Rs 60,000 or less. Those earning more than that are not eligible.
- People who already own a house or plot are not eligible.
- The age of the candidate must be below 55 years.

What are the objectives of the Apna Ghar Apni Chhatt Program
The key objective of this program is to help those who do not have the means to build their own house. The initiative is specifically aimed at helping people who have lost their homes due to natural calamities, accidents, or financial difficulties.
The Punjab government has launched this initiative to make the dreams of around one million people in Punjab come true by providing them with their own homes. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the construction of these houses will be completed in a few weeks and eligible people will get their housing after registration.
