On Monday, Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), met with Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah at his office. The discussion revolved around efforts to expand support for BISP beneficiaries, focusing on education and skill development.
Key areas of focus included:
- We are setting up campsites in schools to process BISP’s quarterly payments and the distribution of Benazir Taleemi Wazaif.
- We are promoting technical and vocational education within Sindh.
- BISP beneficiaries are developing skills to help them achieve greater self-sufficiency.
Collaboration between BISP and the Sindh Govt for Skill Development Training
Rubina Khalid mentioned the need for collaboration between BISP and the Sindh government to provide technical skills training to families benefiting from the program. She emphasized that providing individuals with the necessary skills could pave the way for stable incomes and improve their lives.
Empowering Through Technical Education to Beneficiaries Children
In addition to financial assistance, Rubina Khalid restated BISP’s commitment to helping families achieve self-reliance. “We aim to focus more on technical education for children from BISP-registered families,” she said. The objective is to make sure that eligible children gain valuable skills through the Skill Development Program, ultimately improving their chances of a better future.
Agreement To Improve Technical Training
Both the chairperson and the minister agreed to draft a plan with proper steps for improving technical education. Minister Shah provided updates on recent changes in the Sindh Education Department and expressed his support for expanding this skill development training.

Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah praised Rubina Khalid‘s dedication and recognized the important work BISP is doing.
