Reasons for the Increase in BISP Budget by 20%
The newly allocated budget covers the following measures:
- Create employment opportunities
- Improve the application of computer technology.
- Increase agricultural productivity thanks to new technologies
- Strengthen the defense sector
- Improve healthcare by reducing drug costs and treating those who need them.
- Support small businesses by improving support for SMEs
- Develop the industrial sector to boost exports
- Increase pensions for retirees and salaries for public sector employees
In addition, several initiatives have been introduced to improve education and increase the allocation for the poor and unemployed under the BISP program to Rs 400 billion.
BISP Budget Scheme for 2024-25
The Benazir Income Support Program plays a crucial role in improving the living conditions of people living in extreme poverty, especially in the face of high inflation. The government announced a 20% increase in the BISP budget to support more people. The adjustment represents a notable increase of Rs 40 billion over last year’s budget and underscores the government’s commitment to helping Pakistan’s poor.

Benazir Kafalat Program Budget 2024
The BISP program includes several key programs aimed at helping underprivileged communities across Pakistan. The key components are:
- Benazir Kafaalat Scheme: This initiative will provide Rs 8,750 per quarter to 9.3 million families in 2024. The government has allocated Rs 346 billion for this purpose. Eligible participants can register by sending their 13-digit CNIC number to 8171. Once qualified, they will receive this amount every three months.
- Benazir Nashonuma Scheme: This scheme will continue in all districts and will benefit about 1.5 million children. The government has allocated Rs 32 billion until 2024. The focus is on children under two years of age and pregnant women.

Eligible women can easily register for the BISP scheme through 8171 tehsil centers. Here is the process:
- Text your CNIC number to 8171 from your mobile phone.
- You will receive a response via SMS confirming your current registration.
- After verification, you are eligible for the program.
- Collect your aid from the nearest BISP program office.
