On 8 June 2024, Maryam Nawaz, CM of Punjab, addressed an important meeting focused on animal husbandry. During this session, he approved the launch of Punjab Livestock Card and farmer advisory apps, signalling a major shift in farming practices and providing crucial support to farmers across the province.

What are the Objectives of Punjab Livestock Card Scheme
The Punjab Livestock Card Program, led by CM Maryam Nawaz, provides interest-free loans of Rs 2.5 lakh for animal feed. This project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthen the economic capacity of farmers by simplifying credit procedures and supporting dairy production, especially in rural areas of southern Punjab.
Empowering Breeders
The Punjab Livestock Card scheme aims to provide soft loans to farmers involved in dairy farming, benefiting both men and women. It aims to support 40,000 farmers by providing them with necessary resources for livestock rearing and facilitating meat export opportunities for four thousand animals. Farmers will also have access to free labelling services, insemination facilities, and quality control for wanda and silage.

Governmental Support and Recognition
During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the bravery of police officers Shafique Ahmad and Zeeshan Khurram, who lost their lives in the line of duty. He expressed condolences to their families and reiterated the government’s unwavering support for the police.
