The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) currently assists nearly 1 crore people across Pakistan. While BISP plays an essential role in supporting low-income families, the organization has acknowledged some operational flaws and promised improvements to make the process smoother. Handling payments for such a large population isn’t easy, and beneficiaries in some areas sometimes face delays or challenges in getting their funds.

To address these issues, BISP is introducing a new banking model and a transparent payment disbursement system, which should help beneficiaries facing difficulties receiving their payments. This article will take you through the latest updates on these improvements—read on to stay informed!

BISP Challenges in South Waziristan: Delay in Kafalat Payments

In South Waziristan’s Wana region, many BISP and Benazir Kafalat Program beneficiaries are experiencing delays and challenges in receiving cash assistance. Families from low-income backgrounds frequently acquire passports for overseas employment to make ends meet, yet aid programs tend to classify anyone with a passport as ineligible, assuming them to be financially secure. This policy has added a new layer of difficulty for residents in areas like the newly merged tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

New Banking System Tackles Payment Delays

To address payment delays and other issues, BISP has rolled out a new banking system that will make the process more reliable and accessible for nearly 9.3 million beneficiaries. This system ensures that recipients, particularly women, can receive their stipends without deductions and delays. This time, BISP has expanded partnerships to include six banks, rather than just one, to improve distribution.

BISP has introduced a financial structure that uses the resources of six banks, allowing payments to reach beneficiaries quickly. According to BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid, this new method ensures that funds reach eligible beneficiaries faster and more reliably.

BISP Beneficiaries Will Now Receive Cash Payments Through Six Banks

The mentioned-below banks have been contracted to handle BISP payment distributions:

  • Bank Al Falah
  • Bank of Punjab
  • Mobilink Microfinance
  • Telenor Microfinance Bank
  • Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
  • and HBL Microfinance

Important Update on Benazir Kafalat Registration

The latest update from the Benazir program clarifies that online registration is not available. Scammers have been spreading false information, but in reality, BISP is conducting an NSER Survey at your nearest Tehsil centers. This survey verify your financial position to check eligibility. If you are scoring below 32 on the PMT score then you are eligible to receive stipend from the Benazir Kafaalat.

With its new banking system and transparent payment process, BISP is taking steps to ensure that millions of families across Pakistan can get their cash assistance without any difficulty. These changes reaffirm BISP’s dedication to serving Pakistan’s poor populations, making support more reliable and accessible.
