Good news for Sindh residents who do not own a house yet! Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced the launch of the ‘Sasti Basti’ housing scheme to help people find affordable housing. Despite the lack of complete details, we expect the project to benefit eligible families and potentially collect some data through the BISP scheme.
Sindh to Provide Affordable Housing Through ‘Sasti Basti’ Scheme
The Sindh government has launched its new housing project ‘Sasti Basti’ to provide low-income citizens a path to becoming home owners at an affordable price. Bilawal Bhutto’s Vision for Providing Homes to Deserving Citizens
The idea behind the Sasti Basti housing scheme dates back to the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto. Their goal is to make housing available to the poor through manageable payment plans. With this vision in mind, the Sindh government will soon start building thousands of houses.
Najmi Alam stated how the scheme is in line with Bilawal Bhutto’s efforts to support deserving citizens. He also mentioned the approval of demolition teams to tackle encroachments in Sindh’s slums, thus paving the way for these new housing units.

Who is eligible for the Sasti Basti Housing Scheme?
Only those who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the housing project. The housing project aims to assist individuals who lack a home and face exorbitant monthly rental expenses. Data from the NSER dynamic survey can serve as the basis for eligibility, despite the release of the exact requirements. You can take the survey at the nearest BISP Tehsil office if you have not yet enrolled in the Benazir Kafaalat scheme.

In this context, Dr. Amjad Saqib, founder of Akhuwat, recently met with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to discuss her efforts in supporting housing initiatives. He praised her work, especially Punjab’s Apna Ghar Apni Chat scheme, which aims to provide interest-free housing to those who cannot afford it.
Expressing her commitment to developing low-cost housing in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz focused on the importance of helping low-income families become homeowners. She said that the scheme will continue to grow in the coming years.
