Good news for all BISP beneficiaries participating in the 8171 program! The new president of the BISP program has started a new initiative to help eligible women improve their lives. This initiative, known as the Skills Development Program, will also provide employment opportunities to the families of the beneficiaries.
A new initiative of the Benazir Skills Development Program for eligible beneficiaries
The Benazir Income Support Program announced this new initiative in a recent interview with Rubina Khalid. He outlined the broader goals of the BISP, which have now expanded beyond simply providing financial support. The focus is on introducing a program that will provide skills and training to the beneficiaries and their families. This will enable them to start small businesses or obtain international certifications, opening doors to employment opportunities abroad.
Who is eligible for the the BISP Skills Development Program
The Skills Development Program is open to all BISP beneficiaries who currently receive monthly payments through the Benazir Kafaalat program. The only requirement is eligibility for the Kafalat program. If a woman wants to enroll another family member for the program, she can enroll them too.
These are the basic requirements to participate in the program:
- You must be a Pakistani citizen.
- No international transactions should be in progress.
- Your parents’ monthly income must be less than PKR 50,000.
- You must not have a car registered in your name.
- No country should be registered in your name.

What is the purpose Benazir skill development program
Graduates of BISP vocational training will receive an international certificate that could significantly boost their future careers. This qualification gives them the legal right to seek new opportunities abroad. Pakistan is also expected to benefit with an expected increase in GDP.
Rubina Khalid said, “Interns with international certificates will benefit the country’s economy as they will have better job opportunities abroad.”
Chaudhry Salik Hussain also highlighted how this program could support the families of the beneficiaries.

Start date of BISP Skill Development Program
BISP is planning to launch this new programme soon. Rubina Khalid said that the skill development programme is expected to start by the end of October and the registration details will be shared with the 8,171 beneficiaries of the Kafalat programme.
