Maryam Nawaz has launched a new initiative to provide free internet access to people in select cities of Punjab. This free WiFi program, which was launched in Lahore and Kasur, is now being expanded to Nankana Sahib and other areas under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister.

CM Free WiFi Initiative at Nankana Sahib
After the success of the free WiFi program launched by Maryam Nawaz, the project is being expanded to enable more residents of the province to access internet services easily. After the successful implementation of the free WiFi plan in Lahore and Kasur, the Punjab government has now launched it in Nankana Sahib. BenazirKafaalat.pk
The success of the project is evident: more than five million people in Lahore are already enjoying free internet access, according to a statement issued today by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
List of 5 cities included in the first phase of Nankana Sahib
In the first phase, free Wi-Fi will be available at Nankana Sahib at five key locations:
More than 25,000 people in Nankana Sahib are expected to benefit from this service. In just four weeks, residents have already availed 250GB of data from CM Maryam Nawaz’s free Wi-Fi service.

Expanding free Wi-Fi coverage to 100 to 200 points
Maryam Nawaz announced that the Safe Cities initiative would soon be launched in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, with plans to eventually cover 18 cities in Punjab.
In Lahore, the number of free Wi-Fi spots has already been increased from 100 to 200 on the orders of the Chief Minister.
Now free WiFi is available at 10 key locations in Kasur
In Kasur, the public can access Safe City’s free WiFi at ten different locations including:
- National Bank Chowk,
- Women’s College,
- DHQ Hospital,
- New Bus Terminal,
- Railway Station,
- Model Bazar, and DC Office.
Maryam Nawaz also directed the authorities to roll out the service at 20 more locations in Kasur.

How to use free WiFi in Punjab
According to an official statement, the ‘Digital Punjab‘ initiative is behind this service, which allows residents to use free WiFi for essential apps like WhatsApp, the Punjab Police App, and the Women Safety App. The service is also useful for contacting family members and police in case of emergency.
Entertainment apps like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok are not supported. Each free WiFi hotspot in Lahore covers a radius of 90 meters from your location.
