Nationwide Auditing of BISP Employees

In 2018-19, BISP conducted a nationwide audit and found that 821,000 government employees across Pakistan had their spouse registered as a beneficiary. They send a list to each province for future action, and Sindh is currently actively reviewing cases on it.

Future Actions and Next Steps

Once the verification is complete, BISP decides to recover the misdirected payments with the help of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to ensure the accuracy of identification of those involved.

How This Illegal Registration Will Affect True BISP Beneficiaries

This misuse of BISP funds has prevented monetary assistance from reaching those who truly need it. By investigating and recovering these funds, BISP will complete its mission of supporting the country’s most deserving.
