Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has emerged as one of Pakistan’s most recognized organizations dedicated to supporting the country’s poor, especially women, by financially assisting their families. For the past four years, BISP has been tackling child malnutrition through the Benazir Nashonuma Program. The report also indicates the alarming child stunting rate in Pakistan, which was 23% before the program intervention, ranking third in the world. How to Register for the Benazir Nashonuma Programme for Food and Cash

To be a part of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, eligible women must first confirm their registration in the Benazir Kafaalat Programme. Here is a step-by-step guide to registering:

  1. Make sure you have all the necessary documents with you when you leave home.
  2. Go to the nearest BISP Tehsil Nashonuma center, often located in government district hospitals.
  3. At the center, enter your contact information and learn about the registration process.
  4. Submit the required documents, including the mother’s 13-digit CNIC verified by NADRA and the child’s Form B (if you are receiving child benefits).
  5. The child’s immunization record.

After registration, BISP staff will provide special nutritional packages to the mother and child. These include “pink food” for the mother and “yellow food” for the child, who must be above six months of age. One packet will be given daily for 90 days.
